Return to Studio Safety Plan & COVID 19 Waiver-Release

Please Read Carefully

Dear Ohana Families,

As valued members of our dance family, we are reaching out regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), its impact on our community and families, and how we plan to reopen the studio.

We would like to reassure you that we are adhering to the CDC guidelines as the health and wellbeing of our students, their families, and our staff are our top priority. We will continue to monitor and implement the local, state, and federal recommendations as they’re announced.

We take pride in our facility and how it operates and would like to highlight the policies we have in place at the studio to help our dance families stay healthy and have a safe reopening. Thank you in advance for all of your support during this challenging time. We so look forward to dancing together again!

PREVENTION STEPS IN THE STUDIO:

  • Class sizes have been reduced and dance spaces have been marked to clearly indicate 6 feet of distance from other dancers during class.

  • Teachers have been trained and are prepared to conduct classes to allow for physical distancing.

  • Any person (of any age) entering the building must wear a mask at all times. Masks are mandatory, including during dance classes and in our waiting rooms.

  • Student temperatures will not be taken prior to entry. Parents and students are asked to monitor student temperatures and refrain from attending class if the temperature is elevated (100.4 or higher).

  • We will have a 15 minute break in between classes in order to accommodate for disinfecting in between classes and to limit the amount of people in the space.

  • While students are waiting for classes to start, please wait in cars until 5 minutes before class. Enter through FRONT DOOR ONLY.

  • Dancers who are age 6 or younger may have a parent accompany them inside the studio and/or wait in the waiting room. Adults will not be permitted inside dance classes while instruction is taking place.

  • Parents of students age 7 & up must remain in cars.

  • Dancers with classes back to back will wait in the studio between classes.

  • Every class will be "touchless entry"; an instructor will open the door when students enter the studio; this will signal that all students from the previous class exited the room, disinfecting standards have been completed and we are ready for the next wave of classes to begin.

  • All students will be required to sanitize hands upon entering the building. Hand sanitizer will be provided upon entering.

  • ALL street shoes will be left out in the lobby.

  • The teen lounge will be closed for use until further notice.

  • Bathroom breaks only when absolutely necessary, one at a time.

  • Please bring a bottle of water: the drinking fountain will not be available.

  • Sanitizer: We have sanitizer in each studio, the waiting rooms, the bathrooms, & hallways and we will require students to utilize it frequently.

  • Handwashing: We encourage frequent hand washing.

  • Discouraging close contact: We have adjusted certain aspects of our classes to ensure dancers are not in close proximity. We will not be doing partnering work or group activities at this time.

  • Surface Cleaning: Between every class, we will wipe down frequently touched surfaces and equipment

  • Staff: Only staff feeling well (without symptoms) will be in the studio.

  • Lobby seating will be minimal and will be spaced out to ensure safe distancing.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OHANA DANCERS

  • Any person (of any age) entering the building must wear a mask at all times. Masks are mandatory, including during dance classes and in our waiting rooms.

  • Only dancers age 6 or younger will be allowed to have parent accompaniment inside OHANA. No more than one parent per dancer. We ask that parents take every measure to leave siblings at home if possible.

  • For dancers age 7 or older, please be sure the studio has the contact info of whomever is bringing your dancer to class each night in case we need to get ahold of them while the dancers are in class.

  •  OHANA staff will ensure that all dancers exit out of the building through our back door. All dancers (with the exception of under age 6 AND teen classes)  will meet approved adults for pick up.

  • PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Once you are parked, please walk to physically pick up your child. Please be prompt in picking up your dancer.

  • Students are permitted to enter the building 5 minutes before the start of their class. In order to limit occupancy levels, we must enforce this policy. Please do not arrive earlier than 5 minutes before class begins. We are aware that coming into the studio alone is new for some kids, and we will act and organize accordingly to provide a safe and stress free atmosphere.

  • Dancers will use hand sanitizer before entering class and will go to their assigned dance space. Dancers will be given hand sanitizer at the end of class.

  • Any dancer who does not comply with social distance or causes unnecessary danger to the health and safety of their classmates or teacher will be asked to continue future classes virtually on ZOOM.

  • *Masks may become mandatory during class/dance time if OSPA (Ohana School of Performing Arts) and state guidelines require.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OHANA PARENTS

  • Parents will not be allowed to enter the studio during class hours unless their child is 6 years old or younger. *Please speak with Studio Director, Ashley Kohl, about special circumstances.

  • Don’t break any formal quarantine/government restrictions.

  • Encourage your child to cough and sneeze into their arm not in their hand

  • Alert us if your child does have COVID-19 and have been to the studio within the last 14 days so we can contact their peers

  • Please rest and seek medical assistance if symptoms (e.g. fever, chills, coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath) occur and/or the self-check suggests proper diagnosis

  • Please follow the CDC precautions if you have come in contact with someone with COVID-19

  • Please use the restroom and wash your hands thoroughly prior to entry to limit the amount of traffic into the bathrooms.

  • In the coming days and weeks, we will continue to monitor the situation and pass along any pertinent information we gather
