Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for all of your support, patience, enthusiasm and love during this wonderful dance season. We are so proud to be able to showcase each and every dancer, after all of their hard work and commitment.

The theme this year is: "Embrace who you are". In a world where everyone tries so hard to fit in, STAND OUT!
This year's message is to encourage everyone to celebrate their individuality and to be proud of their unique identity and not be afraid to show it off to the world. When you fully accept yourself, you'll attract people who appreciate and accept you for who you are.

HOW LONG DOES RECITAL LAST?

Though it's difficult to predict the exact length of the recital, the show should be no longer than 4.5 hours, 5 hours at the absolute maximum. There will be 2 intermissions during the performance. The show should be done by 5:00PM.

The troupe showcase should only be 1 hour long with no intermission.

HOW LONG DOES DRESS REHEARSAL LAST?

Dress Rehearsal will run until about 9:00PM, however, dancers should NOT stay the entire time. Dancers should leave dress rehearsal when they are finished rehearsing their routines.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE LINE-UPS TO THE SHOWS?

DOES MY DANCER NEED TO STAY FOR THE WHOLE RECITAL?

Dancers are asked to stay until the end to participate in the Grand Finale! Also, dancers and their families are asked to stay for the whole recital in order to cheer on each and every dancer who has worked hard all season for their chance to perform. If everyone left when they finished performing, there wouldn't be an audience left for the dancers who are performing towards the end of the show.

DOES MY DANCER NEED TO WEAR MAKEUP ON STAGE?

We strongly encourage dancers to wear makeup that enhances their features (eyeliner/eyeshadow, blush & lipstick). The purpose of makeup is to enhance the performers features so that audience members can see from a distance. Natural shades are best. If you need more help with makeup, please email us at info@ohanaperformingarts.com.

CAN WE TAKE PICTURES?

Pictures and video are allowed at dress rehearsal ONLY. Photography and videography is strictly prohibited during the performance, as we will have a professional company recording the show and capturing still photos. We ask that you adhere to this policy out of respect for the professional artists and Ohana.

CAN WE TAKE VIDEO?

Pictures and video are allowed at dress rehearsal ONLY. Photography and videography is strictly prohibited during the performance, as we will have a professional company recording the show and capturing still photos. We ask that you adhere to this policy out of respect for the professional artists and Ohana.

HOW DO I PURCHASE PHOTOS/RECITAL VIDEO?

You are able to pre-order a digital file of the Troupe Showcase as well as the 7th Annual Performance Showcase.

WHERE DO I GET MY CHILD WHEN THEY ARE FINISHED PERFORMING?

We will explain this in more detail at dress rehearsal. We will be calling routines backstage 5 at a time. When your dancers routine is called, you will walk them backstage to Ohana Staff. They will stay backstage and you will be able to return to your seat. If your dancer is nervous and not ready to stay backstage without you, you are more than welcome to stay with them! Once their routine is finished, we will hold your dancer backstage with us and you will come back to get them. It is VERY important that parents & dancers are paying attention to the line-ups. We will be making announcements, but it is also your responsibility to be aware of when you/your dancer is performing.
