Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for all of your support, patience, enthusiasm and love during this incredibly challenging dance season. We are so proud to be able to showcase each and every dancer, after 2 years of not having the chance to perform on stage. This is going to be an informal, laid back, FUN show, but is requiring several volunteers, planning and a large expense to pull off. This year's theme, "Believe You Can" has been our mantra this year. No matter what obstacles come your way, if you believe you can overcome, you can do anything! This will be an event to remember!

  • Ohana's 5th Annual Performance Showcase will be held on Saturday, June 19th, with shows at 11:00AM & 4:00PM at the Coliseum Building at Eastern States Exposition (The Big E) located at 1305 Memorial Ave, West Springfield, MA 01089. Dancers must arrive in costume with hair and makeup done 30 minutes prior to showtime.

  • All dances will receive a blue lanyard that will act as their ticket to the show. Lanyards will be taken off while performing and put back on when they get off stage.

  • Students in 3 or more classes will be assigned a dressing room to change in. They are not to remain in these rooms when not dancing. all dancers must be in the audience with their families.

  • Dress Rehearsal will be held on Friday, June 18th at 4:00PM at the Coliseum Building at Eastern States Exposition (The Big E) located at 1305 Memorial Ave, West Springfield, MA 01089. Dancers must arrive in costume with hair and makeup done 30 minutes prior to showtime (3:30PM).

  • Dancers will have to bring the COVID health waiver they received in their Performance Pack with them to DRESS REHEARSAL. Each student will have to do a quick health screening prior to entering the building. This will ONLY be on Friday, not on Saturday.

  • Only one parent/guardian is allowed to attend dress rehearsal with their dancer(s).

  • Students should leave once they are finished rehearsing all of their dances. You will not be dismissed and therefore are responsible for leaving after your last dance is rehearsed.

  • Dancers will sit in the audience with their parent/guardian during dress rehearsal.

  • Dress rehearsal seating is NOT assigned. Please maintain social distancing when choosing seats.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE LINE-UPS TO THE SHOWS?

DOES MY DANCER NEED TO STAY FOR THE WHOLE RECITAL?

Dancers are asked to stay until the end to participate in the Grand Finale and to receive their much-deserved trophy! Also, dancers and their families are asked to stay for the whole recital in order to cheer on each and every dancer who has worked hard all season for their chance to perform. If everyone left when they finished performing, there wouldn't be an audience left for the dancers who are performing towards the end of the show.

DOES MY DANCER NEED TO WEAR MAKEUP ON STAGE?

We strongly encourage dancers to wear makeup that enhances their features (eyeliner/eyeshadow, blush & lipstick). The purpose of makeup is to enhance the performers features so that audience members can see from a distance. Natural shades are best. If you need more help with makeup, please email us at info@ohanaperformingarts.com.

CAN WE TAKE PICTURES?

Pictures and video are allowed at dress rehearsal ONLY. Photography and videography is strictly prohibited during the performance, as we will have a professional company recording the show and capturing still photos. We ask that you adhere to this policy out of respect for the professional artists and Ohana.

They will stay backstage and you will be able to return to your seat. If your dancer is nervous and not ready to stay backstage without you, you are more than welcome to stay with them! WHAT ARE YOUR RULES ABOUT MASKS DURING OHANA'S ANNUAL PERFORMANCE SHOWCASE?

Based on the latest CDC guidelines, and Big E requirements and guidance, all audience members, volunteers, staff, and dancers (when not performing on stage), will be required to wear a mask while in the venue for recital. It is, however, optional for dancers to wear a mask during their performance on stage, utilizing exposure guidelines from the CDC. As routines are less than 3 minutes long and dancers will sanitize their hands upon entering the stage, we are not requiring dancers to wear masks during the duration of their routine. They will remove them, place them in a bin behind the stage, and put them back on immediately after their stage performance when exiting the stage.

I PREFER MY DANCER TO BE IN A MASK. WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

If you would prefer your dancer wear a mask on stage while performing, please purchase a neutral (not patterned) mask for your dancer. We recommend flesh tone or light grey. No bold colors please.

ARE FOOD AND DRINK ALLOWED IN THE COLISEUM?

Outside food and drink are not permitted, however, there is a concessions stand, The Collie Corner, that will be open that serves hot and cold food and beverages.

ARE YOU READY FOR AN AMAZING SHOW?!

We sure are! We can't for you to see these amazing dancers perform & shine their light on stage!
